Preliminary Task

For our preliminary task we based it around young teenagers of our own age. We used a classroom in our 6th form which was being used by other students to give it that school vibe and realism. Our storyline was quite dramatic and something you might see in a classic soap like Eastenders, but also the issue is something a lot of teenagers aged 16-18 that attend 6th form could compare to thats why we chose to use a schooling environment. I was the actress in the mini film, so that was my main role in the task also i created a mini script for both me and the other actor. All three of us in the group took part in the editing, the footage which we took had to be cleverly put together so that the match on action was right and the shot reverse shot was clear. The editing i found particulary difficult as using iMovie for the first time was a new experience and didn't have a lot of knowledge of how to use the software. We slowed down the most tense part of the film, where the pregnancy test was thrown on the table. This was designed to cause tension for the audience and for the audience to realise what the pregnancy stick means.
